Let me express in advance my sincere appreciation for the two Masters who so generously put me on the right path. They are the unique Tenor Francisco Ortiz and to exceptional Bass-Baritone Carlos Chausson.

It was around my nine years old when I started to sing Jota – the typical folk singing of my region – influenced by the beautiful Mezzo voice of my mother who died two years before that, in 1980. She loved this type of Music and she used to sing Jota and she loved to make me sing some parts of it when I was small.

She loved this type of Music and she used to sing Jota and she loved to make me sing some parts of it when I was small.

It was in my School “La Salle-Montemolín” where I met my Jota Teacher Mrs. Angelines Hernández. She taught me for four years and I can say that I have a loving memory of those days to the point we have gathered back together after some years now and I can proudly say that I keep the friendship with a woman who was important to me in a certain period of my life and someone I do respect as a Teacher and as a Person.

I must say I won the 2nd Award in the only Jota Context I participated when I was with her, that was the “Peña del Cachirulo” Context.

Simultaneously, I started to study in the Conservatory. I started with the Guitar and the Accordion but very soon I found out something that would change my life completely: the Bel Canto.

So in 1988 I started my love story with singing.
